About the Event
In 2022 Laker Vets put on their very first Walk, Run, Fly 5k Fun Run to help support veteran students as they transition into civilian lives. Students face many challenges as they navigate college, and veterans are no exception. With these challenges in mind, Laker Vets uses the funds raised through events such as the 5k fun run to aid their fellow military-connected student body in their success in furthering their education. These funds also help the GVSU student veteran/military-connected students to attend the Student Veterans of America (SVA) national conference in January. Most importantly this event is to help bring awareness and attention to the veteran community in our area.
This Year
We are excited to be hosting the second annual Laker Vets Walk, Run, Fly 5k Fun Run on Veterans Day November 11th, 2023. The timeline for the fun run is as follows 9 am package pick up, 10 am run begins, 11 am Laker Vets tailgate together with Lighthouse for Veterans, 1 pm Veterans appreciation football game. We ask that all participants enter and exit campus VIA W. Campus Drive, parking will be at parking lot H&J.
Day-of registration available from 9am - 9:45am in the Kirkhof Center lobby.
