EUSA: MADRID INTERNSHIP COST BREAKDOWN

The following is an estimated cost of attendance for the Madrid, Spain EUSA Internship. Students often pay for study abroad through a combination of financial aid, personal funds, scholarships, grants, and alternative loans. The total amount listed as the Total Program Cost is the maximum amount of financial aid that can be awarded to you by GVSU for your study abroad program. This total program cost does not reflect the amount of aid you will qualify for, rather, it serves as the cap on what can be awarded.

*Tuition based on 2022-2023 upper-level instate tuition rates. Out-of-state and Graduate students will pay their respective tuition rate.

Paid to Grand Valley State University Student Accounts by the regular tuition payment deadline.

Students register for 3 credits of SPA 387 and between 1 and 6 credits for the internship course in their major. 3 credits is the typical enrollment for the internship course.

Program Fee

Includes: 

- Ten and one-half weeks of housing in a homestay, including breakfast and dinner daily
- Program and internship orientation in Madrid
- 8 week internship placement and support services
- 2 weeks of language courses at a local language academy
- Cultural exploration activities program
- Four private industry sector-focused tutoring sessions for each student
- Placement in a professional practice internship, which includes mid-term review, any required trouble-shooting, coordination with the internship supervisor and obtaining the supervisor’s written evaluation
- Individual virtual pre-placement internship consultation meetings with online pre-departure group orientation
- On-site program management and emergency support
- Individual airport pick-up
 

 

Chubb Health Insurance

The Chubb health insurance plan is required for all study abroad students. The cost of this plan is $1.46 per day.

*A $100 deposit is due at the time of application plus a $5 processing fee. Applicants submit a deposit to indicate their commitment to the program. This deposit is applied to the program fee.
