Located in Lancashire, England, which is just 22 miles northwest of Manchester. Edge Hill University is near various parks, trails, and museums to explore. When you’re not busy broadening your mind, you’ll broaden your horizons with excursions to beautiful places like Manchester, historical York and Chester, Conwy Castle in Wales and the breath-taking Lake District.
Edge Hill University was the first non-denominational teacher training college for English women. The university is now known for its three facilities: Arts and Sciences, Educations, and Health and Social Care. While at Edge Hill University, students will interact with students from all over the world, enjoy the scenic campus, and experience an advanced sports complex. The university has a strong International Team as well as a set of academic staff who are prepared to provide students with support while abroad.

Cost and Scholarships
GVSU requires all study abroad participants to be covered under a mandatory health insurance plan. This fee will be billed to your GVSU student account prior to the start of your semester abroad.

Edge Hill Program Fee includes:
- Tuition Fees
- Accommodation on campus in a single room
- Collection from Manchester/Liverpool Airport (or the train stations as specified on the pre-departure webpage). Please note that students who arrive outside of the designated dates will have to meet the cost of their transfer to the University.
- Meal package which provides up to 12 meals each week
- Services of the International Office

Notice: Participants will be responsible for paying the program fee directly to Edge Hill University. Although Edge Hill is listed as a partnership program, it functions as an external program for billing purposes. Students should refer to the financial aid information for external programs in the financial aid guide.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Since students are not paying GVSU tuition, this program may not be eligible for the 1098T Education Tax Credit since tuition is being paid to a foreign institution. Your GVSU 1098T will show the amount of your tuition in Box 1 and an equal amount in the Scholarship/Grants in Box 5. They will offset each other. You will need to contact the IRS to find out if tuition paid to a foreign institution may qualify for the Education Tax Credit. When you aren't studying there are a variety of activities on
campus to keep you occupied. Edge Hill’s state-of-the-art Sports
Centre offers some of the best sport and fitness facilities in the UK.
This includes a varied fitness class timetable, 8-court sports hall,
25m 6-lane swimming pool, 80-station fitness suite with in-built
entertainment technology, sauna & steam room, exercise studio, 6
outdoor pitches, 3 floodlit 3G 6-a-side courts, and a competition
standard, floodlit 8-lane synthetic athletics track with 2 x 10-lane
straights.
The Quad, our on-campus nightclub and adjoining pub, is
the hub of student social life on campus: theme nights, quizzes,
karaoke, live bands, snooker, satellite TV and a typical British bar
are all on offer under one roof. You can guarantee that there is
always something happening there! Our on-site Rose Theatre is a
favorite of visiting professional theatre and dance companies with
about 40 shows each year from Shakespeare to stand-up comedy, as well
as weekly movie nights – with free popcorn!
