I had the summer of a lifetime studying abroad in Costa Rica. I was fully immersed in the Costa Rican culture by living with the sweetest host family, and I became fluent in Spanish during my time in the country. I also met the most amazing natives and fellow study abroad students from all over the US. This Summer semester abroad has given me a deep appreciation for culture, diverse relationships, and an overall awe for the world and the many treasures in it. I was able to cross so many amazing excursions off my bucket list, like snorkeling in Isla Tortuga, Zip-lining through the rain forest of Monte Verde, visiting the natural hot springs and beautiful waterfall of La Fortuna, and so much more! I have formed life-long relationships with several students I studied abroad with, and still keep in touch with my host family, my goal is to go back and visit them someday soon. Not only did I have a lot of fun this Summer semester abroad, but I learned lifelong lessons on top of developing my Spanish competency, especially related to my nursing major, lessons I will hold close to me for the rest of my life.
Kaitlynne Studied at Universidad Veritas in San José, Costa Rica. She studied Nursing and Spanish.
