Global Experiences: Milan Internship Cost Breakdown SUMMER

The following is an estimated cost of attendance for the MILAN, ITALY Global Experiences Internship. Students often pay for study abroad through a combination of financial aid, personal funds, scholarships, grants, and alternative loans. The total amount listed as the Total Program Cost is the maximum amount of financial aid that can be awarded to you by GVSU for your study abroad program. This total program cost does not reflect the amount of aid you will qualify for, rather, it serves as the cap on what can be awarded.

GVSU Tuition  

$615 per credit*

Students enroll directly in a GVSU course within their major which is typically a 490 level course. GVSU Tuition is paid to Grand Valley State University Student Accounts by the regular tuition payment deadline. Example, 3 credits = $1,845

*Students can register for 1 credit or up to 6 credits for this program. 3 credits is the typical enrollment. Tuition based on 2022-2023 upper-level instate tuition rates. Out-of-state and Graduate students will pay their respective tuition rate.

Transfer Credit

3-6 credits = $600 total

Global Experiences offers the option of taking an internship course through their organization and then transferring the credit back to GVSU. Transfer Credit needs to be pre-approved by your academic department's internship coordinator in order to be accepted into at GVSU.

•        Internship placement and support services

•        Eight weeks of housing in student residences

•        Coaching and trouble-shooting during the placement

•        Mid-term review and final evaluation

Additional Meals

Meals not budgeted in the program fee. Students will purchase these meals at their own expense. Calculated at $336 per week (41 EUR per day).

Personal Expenses

On-site personal expenses associated with basic necessities.

Passport/Photo

Passport fee. This is paid to passport processing agency. 
You will also need 2 passport photos to go with your passport application (these can be taken at the Pados International Center) 

Chubb Health Insurance

$81

The Chubb health insurance plan is required for all study abroad students. The cost of this plan is $1.46 per day.

Students who participate in this program and complete the required documents will receive a refund of the $100 OASIS deposit at the beginning of the semester of participation.
