This is the estimated budget for this study abroad program. It serves as an estimated cost of attendance for your semester or year abroad. IS 380 Course Fee

UBB requires all exchange students to apply for health insurance in Romania. The cost of this insurance is about $45 USD per month. In addition, students may be interested in the ISIC card which offers coverage that meets the GVSU requirements

On-site expense paid to UBB. Currently 220 Lei per month or around $65 USD per month. Estimate is based on 5months. Note: Students interested in renting an apartment can expect to pay between 200-250 Euro per month.

This estimate is based on the currency rate of exchange for August 1, 2017. The exchange rate does fluctuate which may result in changes to the estimates above.

PLEASE NOTE: Students who are approved for the Erasmus+ scholarship will receive up to 820 Euro towards their flight, and 750 Euro per month for living expenses. The estimated scholarship benefit is around $5000 USD, bringing the total cost of this program to around $5,758 for the semester.

This budget provides estimated costs for students who participate in the UBB exchange who do not receive the Erasmus+ scholarship. There are limited scholarships available for this program each year. Students who do not receive the scholarship will still be allowed to participate.

Out-of-state students who receive a GVSU tuition differential scholarship will be able to use that scholarship towards the cost of this program. Exception: International students will not have access to the tuition differential scholarship for use towards the cost of this program, however, they may still be eligible for a Study Abroad Grant and/or the exchange student scholarship.

*Based on 2017-2018 in-state, upper-division tuition rate. If you complete more than 15 GVSU credits during your semester abroad, tuition charges for the additional credits above 15 will be billed to your student account after you return from study abroad and PIC completes the transfer of credit.
