Cost Breakdown for ESSCA Paris (Summer)

This is the estimated budget for this study abroad program. It serves as an estimated cost of attendance for your study abroad program. Students often pay for study abroad through a combination of financial aid, personal funds, scholarships, grants, and alternative loans. The total amount listed as the Total Program Cost is the maximum amount of aid you can receive from GVSU. This estimated cost of attendance does not reflect the amount of aid you will qualify for, simply the cap on how much could be award to you.

ESSCA Programme Fee

GVSU tuition for 6 credits: $3,282


Program Fee:

Option 1. $1,850-3,350 (€1,550-2,850)

Option 2. $2,400-3,900 (€2,000-3,300)


Program fee is paid to GVSU and includes: housing, course fees and materials, some guided tours.

Program Fee is dependent on program and housing  selection.

IS 380 Course Fee


Paid to GVSU. The course fee for IS 380 is $28 per credit hour. Participants on this program will register for 6 credits of IS 380.

Additional Costs




Passport & Visa


Passport fee: $145. Visa not required for summer program.



Paid to Airline Provider.

Health insurance

$28 - $208

Paid to insurance provider of your choosing. The Basic ISIC card ($28) and Explorer ($208) will meet the PIC health insurance requirement.


Included in Program Fee

Students will stay in double occupancy apartment.



On-site personal expenses. Costs for meals will largely depend on a person's spending habits. Students who prepare meals at home rather than eating out regularly may dramatically reduce the cost for meals. This estimate is based on approx. $130 per week.

Personal Expenses

$350 - $525 (based on $100-$150 USD per week)

On-site personal expenses associated with local transportation not provided by the program, laundry and other basic necessities.
