The Student Senate is an important part of Grand Valley because it gives students a voice. The Student Senate works to represent the student body to the university administration and make Grand Valley a better place for all Lakers. With Senate elections fast approaching, it’s time to learn the ins and outs of the Student Senate and discover how you can get involved.

What is the Student Senate?

The GVSU Student Senate represents the voice of the students. It’s comprised of a variety of students who work in different committees focused on university affairs. Concerns, thoughts, and ideas are shared during General Assemblies, which are open to the entire Grand Valley community. Through these meetings and the work of the committees, the Student Senate is able to determine and address the most important issues affecting Grand Valley students.
