GVSU Mourns the Loss of Dr. Marvin DeVries

Marvin DeVries passed away on July 4, 2018, just a few days shy of his 85th birthday. For many years, he lived in Jenison, MI, where he became an economics professor at Grand Valley College; Marvin was one of the first faculty hired at then brand-new school. He went on to start the Seidman College of Business, where he was Dean for 15 years.
