Bonnie Bowen began her appointment as Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs in July 2017 and now serves as Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs.  Her primary areas of focus are budget and resource management, budgetary support of faculty and staff hires, and management of enrollment/course scheduling.  She is committed to high ethical standards, transparency, creative problem solving, quality and rigor, and open communication. 

Associate Vice President Bowen completed her M.Ed. in Higher Education, with an emphasis in Adult and Higher Education.  Her research focus is women in leadership.  She earned her B.B.A. at Grand Valley State University as an Accounting major. 

Prior to joining the Office of the Provost, Ms. Bowen served as the Assistant Dean for the College of Education at Grand Valley State University with responsibility for budgets, resource management, facility management, and leading policy implementation for the college.
