Purpose Statement
The Academic Affairs Lakers Ready Newsletter serves as the primary communication channel from the Office of the Provost to faculty and staff in Academic Affairs. Its purpose is to provide timely updates on:
- Priority projects
- Faculty governance actions
- Upcoming events
- Highlights of engaged scholarship
- Standard reminders on items pertaining to Academic Affairs
The newsletter is designed to foster transparency, engagement, and collaboration by keeping the academic community informed about developments that impact the Division of Academic Affairs and the broader University.
Submission Guidelines
We welcome submissions that support the newsletter’s mission. Appropriate content includes:
- Academic Affairs Priority Projects: Updates on strategic initiatives, major projects, and institutional priorities.
- Faculty Governance Updates: Summaries of recent actions or decisions made through shared governance.
- Upcoming Events: Announcements relevant to faculty and staff.
- Scholarship: Recognition of newly awarded external funding or recent faculty/staff publications. New grant announcements will be supplied by the Center for Scholarly and Creative Excellence.
Submission Requirements
- Who Can Submit: Any University faculty or staff member.
- Format: Submissions must be 500 characters or fewer, include a clear title, and provide the essential details (who, what, when, where, and why). Include a link to more information when available.
- Deadline: Submissions are due by 4:00 p.m. on the Wednesday before the newsletter is published. Late submissions may not be included.
- How to Submit: Submit announcements via the Office of the Provost website.
All submissions are reviewed for:
- Alignment with the newsletter’s purpose
- Clarity of message
- Appropriateness for a broad faculty/staff audience
The Office of the Provost reserves the right to edit for length and clarity and to decline publication of any submission that does not meet editorial standards or align with the newsletter’s purpose.
