Richard Damstra
Richard Damstra graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science in May 1996 and went on to study at Valparaiso University School of Law, graduating in May 2001.
After law school Richard worked as an Associate Attorney for Warner Norcross + Judd for 4 years in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He joined the US Foreign Service in 2005 and was posted to Kazakhstan, Ukraine, and Bulgaria in the next decade. Richard returned to Washington DC to serve as the Ukraine Assistance Coordinator in the Office of the Coordinator of U.S. Assistance to Europe and Eurasia from 2014-2016. Richard was posted to the US Embassy in Hungary from 2016-2019, and then to Latvia from 2020-2023. He is currently working as a Senior Advisor at the NATO Office of Strategic Communications in Brussels.
