Fall 2025 Project Day

The Seymour & Esther Padnos College of Engineering (PCE) hosted its Fall 2025 Project Day on December 4th in the Shape Corp. Innovation Design Center. Held every Fall and Winter semester, Project Day represents a culmination of student effort and hard work. This event provides space to recognize student achievements and celebrate the success, curiosity, and dedication of our incredible students. This semester, over 100 PCE students, both undergraduate and graduate, presented projects that fostered meaningful conversations and cross-disciplinary learning in STEM.

Project Day also serves as an important initiative for K-12 outreach. This semester, approximately 40 local high school students from West Michigan Aviation Academy and GVSU’s TRIO/Upward Bound Wyoming cohort attended Project Day.  The high schoolers were able to interact with PCE presenters and ask questions about their projects. Additionally, visiting students and GVSU community members had the opportunity to vote for their favorite projects. We received over 300 votes!

Congratulations to the Fall 2025 Project Day winners:

First Place
Museum of Technology: Bicycles
Myles Jones, Marissa Houston, Izzy Charnecki, Jaiden Shorter

Second Place
Frequency Domain Entropy for Electromyography
Hailey Siwek

Third Place

Thank you to all PCE students, faculty, and staff who participated in Fall 2025 Project Day! We wish you another successful semester and hope that you mark your calendar for our next Project Day, which will be held on April 23, 2026 in the Shape Corp. Innovation Design Center.
