PCE Outreach Brings GVSU BeBot Activity to the 2026 JA Girls Dream Fair

On March 12 and 19, the PCE Outreach team participated in the 2026 JA Girls Dream Fair, an event dedicated to inspiring middle school girls in West Michigan to explore and pursue STEM fields. During the event, PCE Outreach introduced students to the engineering programs and opportunities available at GVSU.
To bring environmental engineering to life, the team created a hands-on activity inspired by the GVSU BeBot, a remote-controlled robot housed at the GVSU Annis Water Resources Institute that cleans garbage and litter from Michigan beaches and lakeshores. Students first collaborated in a robot simulation to learn about water and shoreline conservation, then participated in a design challenge where they created and presented their own robot prototype.
