Abstract
A wildlife optical imager device on a 20 foot pole that can be extended or lowered into tree dwellings and wildlife burrows to perform a 3D scan of the interior space. A tablet at the base of the pole wirelessly communicates with the device to take measurements and receive the state of the device. The measurements are used to provide a 3D point cloud visualization of the volume captured, as well as provide an estimated volume space(cm^3 or in^3). The device aims to aid wildlife biologists that are trying to understand the inside of animal dens, in this case mainly geared towards American Martin dens.
The Biology department offers undergraduate programs in Biology, Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences, Natural Resources and Environmental Management, Wildlife Biology, and a graduate program in Biology. The Biology department is an inclusive learning community that engages in critical inquiry extending scientific knowledge and practices to foster engaged citizens, and mentor creative and competent professionals in the biological and natural resource sciences.
