8th Grade Pathways Manager, Ms. Jenifer Young would like to welcome you to the 8th grade pathways program by inviting you and your families to our, "Fall 2026 Welcome virtual meeting." In this meeting you can expect to receive new information on the pathways program, scholarships, workshops and much more! We are excited to meet with you and your families for the new 2026 school year!
Who should attend: Any Pathways to GVSU student and their families who are new to the Pathways program.
Pathways to GVSU Meeting (Virtual)
What to Expect
The Pathways to GVSU Meeting is an informational virtual meeting to provide an opportunity for students and families in the 8th Grade Pathways program to virtually connect with Ms. Jenifer Young, 8th Grade Pathways Manager. This meeting will cover general information regarding the Pathways to GVSU program and key events. In addition, Jenifer will also provide helpful tips and information for high school and college application success.

Experience a Laker Football Game (In-Person)
What to Expect
We invite you and your family to be part of our upcoming GVSU football season at Lubbers Stadium with a maximum of 4 complimentary tickets to a football game. Select your desired game from the options below. After signing up, you will receive a confirmation with information regarding accessing your tickets. Registration will close 24 hours prior to game day.
Who should attend: Pathways students and their families (up to 4 total guests, including the student).
What to bring: Your confirmation email for ticket access.

Laker Open House (In-Person)
What to Expect
Laker Open House events are in-person, campus-wide events offered in the Fall and Spring, designed for prospective students and their families. These events provide you with the opportunity to experience Grand Valley's academic programs and campus communities, and navigate your next steps.
You can choose from activities such as campus and housing tours, presentations on academics, and speak with faculty and staff about GVSU programs and student resources. A number of academic programs will offer specialized tours of their facilities. Visit the Laker Open House webpage for details.
Who should attend: Pathways students and their families.
What to bring: Comfortable shoes — the tour is student-led and covers academic buildings, housing, rec center, and more.

Financial Aid Workshop (Virtual)
What to Expect
November 3, 2026, from 6:00pm - 7:00pm
Please join us for our Fall 2026 financial aid workshop hosted by our GVSU Financial aid office. At this virtual workshop, you will receive important information regarding the financial aid steps, scholarship and grant information, how to apply and much more! Be sure to attend with your family as you will also be provided an opportunity to ask financial aid related questions that you may help you on your journey! We look forward to seeing you!
8th Grade Pathways College Readiness Workshop (Virtual)
What to Expect
November 14, 2026, from 12:00pm - 1:00pm
Welcome to our Fall 2026 virtual College readiness workshop. At this workshop you will experience activities that will assist with preparing you for your college future. This interactive workshop will provide tools, career research and educational information to assist on your pathway to college. Join us for a virtual experience that will make a lasting impact on your educational journey!
Future - Freshman Presentation & Campus Tour (In-Person)
What to Expect
Designed for current high school students, or recent high school graduates, this campus visit includes a group presentation followed by a student-led campus tour. The whole visit takes about 2 hours. The presentation covers academics, student life, and financial aid. The student-led walking tour goes through academic spaces, the library, the recreation center, a few housing options, and more. This campus visit experience is offered year-round, with flexible scheduling to fit your family's calendar.
Who should attend: Current high school students or recent high school graduates, along with your family members.
What to bring: Comfortable shoes — the tour is student-led and covers academic buildings, housing, rec center, and more.
