Focus on Arabic culture through authentic texts and multimedia materials. Continuation of ARA 201. This course examines the cultural and linguistic contexts associated with food in the Arab world. Not only does this course build the vocabulary and structures related to Arabic food, it also offers practical hands-on opportunities to learn about ordering, buying, and cooking Arabic food. Offered fall semester every other year. Prerequisites: ARA 202.
This course provides a window into cultural understanding of Arab countries that is needed to carry out a successful visit to such countries. It focuses on learning about and exploring aspects of visiting such countries through themes that advance students' practical Arabic language when visiting an Arabic-speaking country. Offered winter semester. Prerequisite: ARA 202.
