Strategic Plan Framework, 2025-2030

Mission

University Libraries champion intellectual freedom to inspire critical thinking, creativity, the pursuit of knowledge, information literacy, and the open exchange of ideas.

Vision

University Libraries will be a vibrant hub where knowledge connects people, sparks innovation, and creates a sense of community through equitable access to information.

Values

University Libraries are committed to providing barrier-free access to library resources for our community, regardless of delivery format. Making sure that members of our community can easily access resources they need is one of the ways that we empower learners for the future, equip students to flourish in work and life, and advance the public good.

University Libraries recognize the value of individual expertise and the importance of many perspectives. We proactively partner  with our colleagues across the university and the greater profession to improve teaching, learning, and research outcomes, meet shared goals, and integrate information literacy into our curriculum, scholarly, and creative activities.

University Libraries foster curiosity and the exchange of ideas by encouraging people to question the world and engage with information from diverse perspectives. We are steadfast supporters of intellectual freedom, empowering individuals to think critically, make informed decisions, and respect the dignity and independence of others.

University Libraries play a crucial role in fostering equity by dismantling barriers and creating spaces that are accessible, welcoming, and inclusive. We critically engage with our systems, spaces, and services to advance equity and cultivate a sense of belonging.

University Libraries critically analyze our services, systems, practices, and policies with user privacy at the forefront. The right to privacy is a crucial safeguard to intellectual freedom, ensuring everyone has the right to develop their thoughts and opinions free of surveillance.
