Call for Papers and Stories

Laker Con 2024 is now accepting 100-to-250-word abstracts for papers, presentations and panels on the critical influence, historic importance or storytelling power of comics, sequential storytelling, or juxtaposed image-based narratives. We will collect final essays, analyses and reviews on comic theory and comics creation for publishing. Accepted papers will be presented during Laker Con 2024. Speakers will have 30-minutes to present with a 15-minute Q&A at the end (45 minutes in total).

We also encourage creators to create a four-to-six page story to premiere at Laker Con 2024. These written and visual narratives will be shown in a gallery format and presented to a live audience as well as a jury comprised of editorial and working professionals.
