Standards Committee
Purpose
Work to ensure consistent advising experiences for students across the university.
About the Standards Committee
- Provide consultations/advice on and review of curriculum changes, as well as GVSU advising policies and procedures.
- Interpret the LAAN bylaws when necessary and coordinate an annual review of said bylaws.
- Promote research and assessment of advising at GVSU and the advising profession as a whole.
- Work closely with the University Assessment Committee (UAC) to help coordinate the assessment of academic advising.
- Assist centers with developing their assessment and strategic plan reports.
- Create, assess, and implement evidence-based practices related to the transfer student experience, Transfer Student Advising & Registration (TSAR), early college students, and early alert programs at the university.
- Collaborate with Enrollment Development, Admissions, Faculty committees at the university (UAC, UCC, etc.), and the Dean of Students as appropriate
