Digital Content Creation Internship Job Description
Summary
The digital content creator internship will work with both eLearning Technologies as well as the IT Services team to create high-quality video and text-based technical tutorials for the GVSU community. Video styles include screen captures, lightboard videos, and "talking head" instructional pieces. Equipment provided by GVSU eLearning's Digital Studio.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Create, edit and publish video and text-based technical tutorials.
- Maintain IT web pages where technical tutorials are housed.
- Work with the eLearn and Help Desk team to prioritize new tutorials that need to be created.
- Ensure that all published tutorials are up to date and accurate.
Required Qualifications
- 3rd or 4th-year student in the Film and Video Production major.
- Proficiency with Adobe CC (Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects).
- Web development experience or a willingness to learn how to use the GVSU CMS.
- Signed confidentiality agreement.
Timeframe
- One Semester
- Credit Hours: 1-3 Credits, up to 20hrs/week
- Hours – between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. (some evenings may be required)
Work Environment: The Digital Content Creator intern will work out of the GVSU Digital Studio on the Allendale or Pew campus. Additionally, this position will work with professional staff to help determine what tutorials should take priority.
Technology Provided: This position will have full access to all of the resources in the GVSU digital studio including recording, editing, and post-production equipment and software.
Supervision: Receives strategic and administrative direction from a professional within the IT Teaching and Learning Technologies department.
Compensation: $15-$20 per hour
