Description

The Kent County Food Policy Council champions food justice and works to strengthen our local food system through collaboration, community engagement, and a shared commitment to healthy, nutritious, and affordable food for all. The Kent County Food System Plan reflects this collective vision and offers meaningful pathways for involvement. This session invites not only students, but also faculty and staff who are interested in deepening their understanding of food sustainability and exploring opportunities for personal and collective action. Hear about how students are already contributing to this work and learn how you can connect your teaching, scholarship, service, and daily practices to advancing a more just and sustainable local food system.

Learning Outcomes - Participants will be able to:

  • Local food systems work
  • Local food justice
  • Local food sovereignty
  • Food apartheid

Presenters:

  • Crystal Scott-Tunstall, She/Her/Hers, Professor
  • Eleanor MorenoThey/Them/Theirs, Strategy Manager
