No. 5 Grand Valley hosts Wayne State for Homecoming

The Lakers return to Lubbers Stadium on October 3 for Homecoming, looking to add to their six-game winning streak over Wayne State. Kickoff is 3 p.m.

The Lakers are coming off a historic outing against Judson College, beating the Eagles, 96-0, for the most points scored by a Grand Valley team in program history. The Lakers also rolled up 746 yards of total offense with 11 players accounting for the Lakers’ 14 touchdowns. 

Grand Valley’s defense was equally stellar, holding Judson to four first downs, three of which came via penalties. The Eagles were also held to 70 yards of total offense. 

Wayne State enters the game in search of its first win of the season after opening the season with four straight losses. 

The Warriors’ offense is led by running back D’Vaun Bentley, who has 257 rushing yards and four touchdowns, and receiver Jordan Bell, who has 12 catches for 174 yards. 

First-year quarterback Nikkos Davis has started two games for the Warriors, throwing for 309 yards and a touchdown. Linebacker Luke Johnson leads the team in tackles while linebacker Max Edwards is back this season after leading the team in tackles in 2025.
