Family Weekend features No. 6 Lakers’ matchup against Judson

The No. 6 Lakers welcome Judson College to Lubbers Stadium on September 19, highlighting a full slate of Family Weekend activities for the Grand Valley community. 

Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Grand Valley remains unbeaten and improved to 3-0 following its 20-10 win over Ashland University last weekend. 

The Lakers jumped out to a 17-0 halftime lead behind strong performances from quarterback Andrew Schuster, receiver Kellen Reed and running back Kellen Russell-Dixon. 

Schuster completed 25 of 32 passes for 196 yards and touchdown, Reed had 106 receiving yards and a touchdown and Russell-Dixon rushed for 87 yards.  

Judson is searching for its first win of the season after opening the season with back-to-back losses. Last weekend, the Eagles stumbled against Defiance College, 42-12.

The Eagles managed just eight first downs and 100 yards of total offense while Defiance gained 488 yards of total offense against the Judson defense. 

Reserved seating tickets are sold out for Saturday’s game, but standing-room tickets and parking passes are available through the GVSU Tickets website .
