GVSU, Trinity Health Medical Group leaders celebrate expanded partnership

Leaders at Grand Valley and Trinity Health Medical Group celebrated their expanded partnership during a ribbon-cutting ceremony September 27 at the Campus Health Center. 

Trinity Health Medical Group is now the service provider for GVSU's Campus Health Center, 10383 42nd Ave. The agreement expands a partnership between the two organizations. 

“Grand Valley is looking forward to this expanded partnership with Trinity Health Michigan as we continue our efforts to prioritize student well-being," said Jenny Hall-Jones, vice president for Student Affairs. 

Trinity Health Michigan provides academic and clinical education for Grand Valley health profession and nursing students. It serves as the official sports performance provider for GVSU Athletics and is a service provider at the Injury Care Clinic.

“Trinity Health Medical Group is thrilled to partner with Grand Valley as the service provider for the Campus Health Center,” said Kristen Woods, MD, president of Trinity Health Medical Group. “This aligns with our commitment to people-centered care, by bringing health care to a convenient, accessible location for the GVSU community.” 

The Campus Health Center will prioritize services for GVSU students, faculty and staff but will accept appointments from the public. Three providers will staff the center: Robert Reneker, MD; Gary Detweiler, PA; and Alison Harris, PA. Services are detailed below.

  • General medical exams and yearly physicals
  • Gender specific health care
  • Immunizations
  • LGBTQIA+ care
  • Minor surgical procedures (stitches, lesions, etc.)
  • On-site X-ray
  • Sick visits
  • Treatment of acute illnesses, such as upper respiratory infections or skin infections
