Words of hope to be shared during virtual Campus Interfaith gathering

People of various faiths and beliefs will come together April 28 for a virtual interfaith community gathering sponsored by Grand Valley’s Campus Interfaith Resources.

Each speaker will read a prayer, verse or text about hope and community. 

The gathering will be held via Zoom and is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. Those interested in participating must pre-register to receive the link. Click here to register. 

Speakers include:

  • Isabella Lieberman, GVSU student, Jewish faith
  • Mirza Komic, GVSU student, Muslim faith
  • Kimberly Hillebrand, Kaufman Interfaith Institute staff member, Buddhist faith
  • Luke Bassett, GVSU class of 2020Christian faith
  • Ben Scott-Brandt, GVSU alumnus '19, secular
  • Vishnu and Krishna Mano, a 9th grader and a 6th grader who are part of the Kaufman Interfaith Scholars, Hindu faith

Kevin McIntosh, Campus Interfaith Resources coordinator, said Campus Interfaith student leaders helped shape how the GVSU event would be held.

“We saw other schools across the country bring their communities together for these gatherings and thought it would be a good thing to bring to GVSU,” McIntosh said.
