Nearly 51 percent of employees have contributed to the Faculty/Staff Campaign, raising $806,404 for the 2019-2020 academic year.

Heather Rowan, manager of campus philanthropy, said faculty and staff have "set the gold standard for university giving," and added that more than 30 campus departments had more than 75 percent participation.

For the first time, a program allowed faculty and staff to achieve extra impact for an area on campus. Rowan said the Faculty Staff Campaign Advisory Cabinet created three $280 Challenge Gifts.

The Challenge Grant winners and their chosen funds are listed below:

  • Patti Eisen, administrative assistant for Padnos College of Engineering and Computing, selected the Professional Support Staff Endowed Scholarship;
  • Daniel Giedeman, professor of economics, selected the Economics Department Faculty Scholarship;
  • Kelly Machnik, assistant professor of occupational science and therapy, selected the Occupational Therapy Fund.
