For the seventh year in a row, the GVSU Public Relations Student Society of America (GVPRSSA) received a Star Chapter Award at an international conference.

The award recognizes chapters that provide programming and relationship-building opportunities for students.

GVPRSSA received three other recognitions at the PRSSA international conference held October 18-22 in San Diego.

The group won the University College Service award for an integrated communications campaign for Sawyer’s Day, developed by GrandPR, Grand Valley’s student-run public relations firm.

They also won an award for Outstanding PRSA/PRSSA Chapter Relationship with the West Michigan Public Relations Society of America.

Adrienne Wallace, faculty advisor and assistant professor of advertising and public relations, received Outstanding Faculty Adviser of the Year. Courtney Fogle, alumna and former GVSU PRSSA member, nominated Wallace for the award.
