The GVSU Surplus Store is reopening August 22 at its new location in Standale Plaza.

The store will be open Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and closed on Mondays, Tuesdays and weekends.

Rebecca Ramos, assistant manager, said the store sells used university equipment to the general public by providing quality items at affordable prices.

"Our mission is to keep items out of the landfill by either continuing its life or recycling the materials," said Ramos. "We've been able to keep more than 500,000 pounds out of the landfill since 2014."

The address of the Surplus Store is 429 Standale Plaza NW in Walker, near the corner of Kinney Avenue and Lake Michigan Drive and connected to a Sprint store. Students can ride the 50 Campus Connector bus route to the Surplus Store by stopping at Kinney behind the fire station.
