Repairs are being made to the Cook Carillon Tower on the Allendale Campus.
James Moyer, associate vice president for Facilities Planning, said a project to replace bricks will take place during the summer months. Moyer said some bricks cracked over time, a condition resulting from the local winter climate.
The project is expected to be completed in August. To protect the construction workers, the bells will be silenced when the construction crews are working and will chime at night and on weekends.
The Cook Carillon Tower was built in 1994.
