Laker football fans will enjoy watching highlights and replays of the 2016 season on a state-of-the-art video board at Lubbers Stadium.

Construction on the video board, which measures 40 feet tall and 72.5 feet wide, began June 21. The board and digital scoreboard will be ready for the season opening game against Tiffin University on September 1.

“Grand Valley State is extremely excited to bring a new visual enhancement to Lubbers Stadium that will help provide our great fans with a special game day experience,” said Director of Athletics Tim Selgo. “The capabilities and the high-definition imagery of the new video board system will only enhance what is already an incredible game atmosphere.”

The board will be the largest for a Division II institution. It will rank second among all FCS schools (South Dakota State), third in the state of Michigan and will be the 40th largest on-campus display board in the country.
