MAREC to host small business development event

Grand Valley's MAREC (Michigan Alternative and Renewable Energy Center) is helping host a business development event called Intercoastal on July 30.

The event, hosted by MAREC resource partner Emerge West Michigan, is designed to put entrepreneurs and small business owners together with a collection of resource and economic development partners all in one location.

Intercoastal will be free and open to the public. Food and entertainment will be provided.

The evening's keynote address will be given by Kathleen Fagan Riegler, owner of The Cheese Lady in downtown Muskegon. Riegler will speak about her business model which encourages customers to try before they buy, and about how following her passion led her in a direction in life she didn't expect.
