Grand Valley students offered positions with Teach for America

Six Grand Valley students have been offered teaching positions with Teach for America for two-year terms starting in the fall of 2015.

The students will serve mostly in regions that contain rural or urban communities whose districts and schools are frequently faced with a lack of quality teachers and resources. Many students in Teach for America classrooms are often at or below the poverty line.

The students offered placements in Teach for America classrooms are Rachel Brady, Mikayla Benbow, Anthony Clemons, Luke Dennison, Natalie DePyper and Mary Hoejke.

Each student has committed to teaching for two years in a high-need classroom, has proven themselves as a leader who hopes to further develop leadership skills, and has demonstrated the desire to take part in a program that will positively influence children in communities in need.
