Haas recites Gettysburg Address for WGVU special
President Thomas J. Haas, along with several other community members,
recited the Gettysburg Address as a part of a grant-funded project
celebrating the 150th anniversary of President Lincoln’s famous speech.
Several others from Grand Valley took part in the project,
including Matt McLogan, vice president for University Relations;
Michael Walenta, general manager of WGVU; and Gleaves Whitney,
director of the Hauenstein Center for Presidential Studies.
WGVU is the only Public Media station in Michigan selected to
participate in the nationwide broadcast and community engagement
project, which is tied to the PBS Ken Burns documentary, “The
Address,” which premiers on WGVU April 15 at 9 p.m.
