Nominations for the Kenneth R. Venderbush Student Leadership Award
are due no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, February 8, to the Dean of
Students Office.
Faculty and staff members can nominate students who they feel
have made a significant leadership contribution to the campus
community by representing students, participating on a committee or
serving as a leader in a student organization. Candidates must also be
a senior and enrolled in fall or winter semesters of this year.
The Venderbush Award will be presented to a senior at the annual
Grand Valley Student Awards Ceremony on Monday, April 8. A variety of
awards will be presented to students for academic achievement and
student leadership.
The award is named after Kenneth R. Venderbush, who came to
Grand Valley in 1969 and served as associate professor, dean of
William James College and vice president of Student Affairs during his
time at the university. He was a strong advocate of student leadership
participation as a learning tool.
