Outstanding students, faculty recognized at annual awards celebration
Several Grand Valley students and faculty members were recognized for their accomplishments on Monday, April 8, at the university’s annual awards celebration.
One of the awards given at the event is the Glenn A. Niemeyer Awards, which are the most prestigious academic awards presented by the university. They are given to two faculty members, two undergraduate students, and two full-time and two part-time graduate students. The awards are named for Glenn A. Niemeyer, who retired from the university in 2001 after 38 years of service, including serving as provost from 1980 through 2001.

Todd Cates, Physical Therapy (DPT)
Jeffery Clark, Business (MBA)
John Gipson, Higher Education (M.Ed.)
Meridell Gracias, Nursing (DNP)
James Manser was awarded the Kenneth R. Venderbush Leadership Award. The Thomas M. Seykora Awards were awarded to several students, including Marvis Herring, John (Jack) Iott, Darius Jordan, Bridgette McGuire, Brendan Miller, Shelby Schwarzkoff, Caitlin Stoltman, Michael Williams and Krystal Wilson.
