Staff members in the News and Information Services office won six
PRoof Awards from the West Michigan Public Relations Society of
America. The awards were presented at the 28th Annual PRoof Awards
Gala held April 25 at the Bissell Tree House at John Ball Zoo.
The event honored some of West Michigan’s best public relations
campaigns and projects. News and Information Services won the following:
Silver Award: Laker for a Lifetime “I’m on a Boat” promotion
Silver Award: GVSU Accountability Report
Silver Award: 2012
Election Campaign
Silver Award: Upward Bound feature story for
Grand Valley Magazine
Silver Award: Around Grand Valley Tour

Silver Award: FTP Media Site
During the awards ceremony, WGVU’s Shelley Irwin was presented
with the Media Person of the Year award.
