Douglas Kindschi, director of the Kaufman Interfaith Institute at Grand Valley State University, will present a sermon on “Is Tolerance Enough? The Path to Peace Among Religions,” during a special interfaith-themed Sunday Worship Service, July 22, 10 a.m., at Fountain Street Church, 24 Fountain Street NE, Grand Rapids.

Also featured will be readings in Hebrew, Greek and Arabic, with translations, from the Hebrew, Christian and Muslim scriptures, and Max Bruck’s cello piece “Kol Nidrei,” from the traditional beginning of the Yom Kippur Service.

All are welcome. The event is in conjunction with the 2012 Year of Interfaith Understanding, an effort to cultivate community interest and engagement in all faith traditions in West Michigan to better understand each other. The program is coordinated by the Kaufman Interfaith Institute.
