The Ottawa County Planning Commission, in conjunction with Grand
Valley State University, has scheduled a public open house to present
the preliminary results of the West Michigan Transit Linkages Study.
The purpose of the study is to analyze potential routes for regional
commuter transit service and determine the feasibility of implementing
and sustaining these routes.
The study findings will include information about the existing
local transit services and the demand for new regional routes. The
findings will also include the potential location of regional routes,
stops, transfer stations, vehicle fleet requirements, ridership
estimates and costs.
The open house will be held Monday, August 20, from 6-8 p.m. in
the Alumni House on the Allendale Campus of Grand Valley State University.
The open house will provide residents an opportunity to review
the initial findings of the study and provide feedback. The consultant
hired to conduct the study, Mp2planning LLC, will have informational
displays set up and staff will be on hand to answer questions.
