Rowers place in North America's largest collegiate competition

The Grand Valley women’s and men’s rowing teams competed in the annual Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia May 14. It is the largest collegiate regatta in North America with over 100 participating colleges and universities from the United States and Canada.

Four Grand Valley crews won semi-final victories and two went on to win third place in the finals. The men’s lightweight eight and women’s varsity eight teams took home bronze medals.

“Grand Valley demonstrated its depth in semifinals and faced incredible competition during Saturday’s racing with enthusiasm,” said John Bancheri, head coach.

The team will compete in their last race of the year in two weeks at the American Collegiate Rowing Association National Championship Regatta in Gainesville, Georgia.
