Leadership honor society receives national award

Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society awarded the Grand Valley State University chapter, or “circle,” with the Superior Circle Award. Circles qualify as a Superior Circle if they meet all standards and produce two or more campus-wide leadership events throughout the year. This is the second year Grand Valley has received the Superior Circle Award.

Throughout 2011 the Grand Valley Circle is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its chartering. They hosted a reunion dinner with current members and alumni last March as part of Grand Valley’s 50th Anniversary Celebration, and this fall the Circle will honor 20 “Faculty of Distinction” to commemorate the 20th anniversary and celebrate faculty/student collaboration, leadership, and service.

Circle members at Grand Valley assist with “I am Grand Valley” events, sponsor a leadership case study competition at the annual Leadership Summit, cosponsor the Student Networking Reception and support a variety of on-campus events.
