Bernedine Keller, wife of the late Fred M. Keller and close friend
and supporter of Grand Valley, died September 29 at Clark Retirement
Community. She was 97.
Mr. and Mrs. Keller supported a wide variety of community
nonprofits and were very involved with Grand Valley. In 2000, the
Fred. M. Keller Engineering Laboratories were named in recognition of
their support to the university. The Kellers also provided support for
WGVU, Annis Water Institute and other university endowments.
Following the death of Fred in 2004, Bernedine established the
Fred M. and Bernadine Keller Engineering Diversity Scholarship in his
memory. The award provides financial support to diverse students who
demonstrate a strong desire to pursue an engineering career.
President Thomas J. Haas said: “We are saddened by the loss of
Mrs. Keller. She and her husband gave generously and we are so
grateful for their support of Grand Valley and the engineering
program. Our thoughts are with her family.”
