All members of the campus community are invited to particpate in a community reading.
Susan Mendoza-Jones, director of integrative learning for the College of Interdisciplinary Studies, said a committee selected The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, by Mark Haddons, as the Winter Semester book. The novel chronicles the mystery of a murdered neighborhood dog from the perspective a 15-year-old mathematically gifted autistic boy, who discovers family secrets and struggles along the way.
Faculty and staff members who are interested are asked to sign up by visiting the COIS Web site, www.gvsu.edu/cois, to take part in discussions, programs and service activities relating to the book throughout the semester.
The first 200 people to sign up will receive free copies of the book, other participants will receive a coupon for 20 percent off the price of the book when purchased at University Bookstores.
