A roundtable of local leaders will explore the importance of
diversity in the recruitment and retention of female attorneys and
attorneys of color.
The event will be held Tuesday, March 9, from 8 a.m.-noon, in
Loosemore Auditorium on Grand Valley’s Pew Grand Rapids Campus. Two
nationally recognized speakers will talk about steps being taken by
leading firms to retain minority and female attorneys.
Robert J. Grey, Jr., a partner at Hunton and Williams and interim
executive director of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity, will
talk about how to meet challenges of retention. Cynthia Thomas
Calvert, co-director of Project for Attorney Retention, will talk
about how to improve diversity in the workplace.
A panel of local leaders will discuss their experiences.

The event is sponsored by the Legal Studies program in the
School of Criminal Justice and the Grand Rapids Bar Association. The
