Provost Gayle R. Davis will continue to host conversations with faculty
and staff members regarding the state of Grand Valley.
These informal meetings continue the town hall style meetings Davis
hosted in November. "Those meetings resulted in a number of general
ideas for our future operations, including some that have implications
for our student services and support, academic curriculum, and
allocation of human and financial resources," Davis said.
Each session will be conducted twice, once in Allendale and once in
Grand Rapids, allowing the most participation. The schedule is below.
• Students' Changing Futures: Wednesday, February 4, 1:30-3 p.m.,
Kirkhof Center, room 2263; and Friday, February 6, 10-11:30 a.m., DeVos
Center, room 205E.
• Curriculum: February 25, 9-10:30 a.m., DeVos Center, room 205D;
February 26, 9-10:30 a.m., Kirkhof Center, room 2263.
• Resources: March 16, 3-4:30 p.m., Kirkhof Center, room 2204; March 17,
8:30-10 a.m., Eberhard Center, second floor.
Notes from the November meeting will soon be posted on Blackboard;
information will be forthcoming regarding registering for that site.
Davis said she hopes for good, continuous dialogue. "I hope by
putting our heads together in these meetings and on the BlackBoard site,
we will identify new ideas for how we can effectively and efficiently
offer our students the support, curriculum and credentials that are most
likely to serve them well in the wildly changing world they are
facing," she said.
