When the economic meltdown began to gather steam last fall, Grand Valley
State University's Seidman College of Business held a series of
successful public events to help businesses and the general public
better understand what was happening and how to respond. Now, Grand
Valley is hosting another roundtable discussion on how best to stimulate
the economy.
The topic, "The U.S. Economy: Where Do We Go From Here?" will
be discussed February 11 at 8 a.m. in the Loosemore Auditorium of Grand
Valley's DeVos Center in downtown Grand Rapids. The event begins with
breakfast at 7:15 a.m.
Each panelist will give a brief presentation, followed by a Q&A
session. The panel will be moderated by Seidman College of Business
Finance Department Chair Sridhar Sundaram. Panelists include:
• Mitch Stapley, managing director of fixed income strategies at Fifth
Third Bank
• Jeanne Englehart, president and CEO of the Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce
• John Balbach, technology business consultant at the Michigan Small
Business and Technology Development Center
• Jim Gillette, director of financial services at CSM Worldwide
• Tom Ranville, senior vice president, Bank of America
