Kurt Ellenberger, FTLC's associate director of grants, said funding requests for the February round alone totaled $160,000, or about three times the amount usually requested. The competitive grants program funds all types of teaching and learning related projects.
Grant recipients for the February cycle include the following faculty members:
- Ellen Schendel, associate professor of writing and director of the Writing Center, received funding for construction of disciplinary genre guides for the center.
- KCON faculty members Cynthia Coviak, Linda Scott and Elaine Van Doren were funded to help revise the college's BSN and MSN programs.
- Karen Libman, associate professor of communications, received funding to buy a new sound system for traveling theater productions.
- Rick Carlton, associate professor and director of radiologic imaging sciences, was funded to help develop a new program within the College of Health Professions.
- Chemistry faculty members Deborah Herrington and Nathan Barrows were funded to create dynamic chemistry tutors.
