Two training sessions are scheduled this week for faculty and staff
members interested in volunteering for Schools of Hope, a Heart of West
Michigan United Way program.
Grand Valley has partnered with Grand Rapids Public Schools to help
increase literacy rates among public school students. Volunteers are
matched with children from 15 participating elementary schools.
Training will be held on Thursday, October 30, from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
in the Kirkhof Center, room 1104; and Friday, October 31, at the same
time in the DeVos Center, room 499C. Lunch will be served.
Register for either session by sending an e-mail to Sue Sloop, Work Life
consultant, at [email protected], or calling x12215.
