Registration for Student Scholarship Day 2008 is open through February
15. Students and their faculty mentors who have engaged in scholarly and
creative works are asked to share their projects with the Grand Valley
community by registering for this event. Presentations from all
disciplines are encouraged. This is a day to celebrate the outstanding
achievements of our student scholars.
On April 9, 2008, SSD presentations will run uninterrupted throughout
the day in both Padnos Hall and Kirkhof Center. The day will culminate
with an hors d’ouvre reception at 4 p.m., followed by a keynote speech
by Dr. Tyrone Hayes from the Integrative Biology Department at UC Berkeley.
The SSD registration process now includes keywords. Students presenters
can choose keywords which relate to their presentations. SSD attendees
can use these keywords to group the presentations by topic and to find
the cross-disciplinary connections in our students’ scholarly and
creative work.
The SSD 2008 Abstract Book will feature a section that showcases the
publications and presentations that Grand Valley faculty and students
have achieved together. If you and a student have received a publication
or gave a regional, national, or international presentation this year,
please send the name of each author and the full citation to
[email protected] .
