The economy in Michigan is going through a painful restructuring
process. Meijer, Inc. President Mark A. Murray will return to Grand
Valley State University on February 28 to discuss that process in the
Ambassador Peter Secchia Lecture Breakfast. His topic will be “The
Skills We’ll Need to Return to Growth.”
Murray served as president of Grand Valley State University from 2001-06
after a two-decade career in state government. In 2006, he left public
service to assume the position of president of Meijer, Inc. In his talk,
he will discuss how to identify ways to reposition Michigan in today’s
highly competitive market. He will also discuss the challenges facing
Michigan and provide insights about the skills needed to get the state
on the growth path again.
The breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m., with the presentation starting at 8
